Release Radar Privacy Policy
Effective May 25, 2026. This policy describes how Release Radar handles information when you use the mobile app.
This Privacy Policy describes how Release Radar ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Release Radar mobile app. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to deliver release reminders and personalize your experience.
- Account info when you sign in with Apple or Google: email, display name, avatar seed, and chosen profile color.
- Content activity: saved titles, watched titles, ratings, reviews, lists, follows, streaks, predictions, direct messages, reports, and other user-generated content you create in the app.
- Notification preferences you set in Settings, including release, watch, trivia, prediction, streak, social, and achievement toggles.
- Push notification tokens when you enable reminders, used only to send opted-in notifications.
- Device identifiers needed for security, device claims, notification delivery, and app reliability.
- Usage analytics, diagnostic, and error information such as app version, device model, operating system, feature activity, request timing, crash details, and API request logs.
2. Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following services:
- TMDb provides film and television metadata. No personal data is sent to TMDb.
- IGDB provides video game metadata. No personal data is sent to IGDB.
- Expo Push Notifications delivers the reminders you have opted into.
- Sentry collects crash reports, errors, performance diagnostics, and app or device context so we can detect and fix problems.
- RevenueCat manages Pro offerings, purchases, restore status, subscription status, and webhook events that keep your account entitlement in sync.
- Apple and Google are used only for authentication when you choose to sign in.
- Supabase provides authentication and stores account, profile, and social-feature data such as reviews, follows, lists, direct messages, reports, and moderation records.
- Cloudflare Workers hosts our API, processes app requests, and may retain operational API logs used for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and reliability.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Personalize release recommendations and your library view.
- Deliver the notifications you have enabled and keep your streak and achievement state.
- Power social features you opt into, including reviews, follows, the activity feed, and lists.
- Process Pro purchases, restore purchase status, prevent duplicate webhook processing, and keep a purchase-event audit trail.
- Detect crashes, diagnose API failures, measure feature usage, enforce limits, investigate reports, and protect the app from abuse.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the subprocessors listed above, and only as needed to run the app, process purchases, deliver notifications, provide authentication, diagnose issues, or moderate user-generated content.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings, Profile, Delete Account. The deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed. Deleting your account removes app-side account data, but it does not cancel a store subscription or issue a refund; subscriptions must be managed through Apple or Google Play. We may retain limited logs, purchase audit records, reports, or moderation records when needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute handling. If you prefer, you may also email info@columbus-labs.com and we will delete your account for you.
6. Children's Privacy
Release Radar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, export of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@columbus-labs.com. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the effective date above and make the revised policy available in the app.
