QuotaKit Privacy

Local Mac collector, private iCloud sync, sanitized summaries on iPhone — no Columbus Labs usage backend.

This Privacy Policy describes how Columbus Labs ("we", "us", and "our") handles information when you use QuotaKit for Mac, QuotaKit for iPhone, and related QuotaKit features.

1. Product Boundary

QuotaKit pairs a Mac collector app with an iPhone companion. The Mac app gathers quota, usage, reset-window, provider-status, and spend summaries for the providers or local sources you choose to enable. The iPhone app displays synced summaries, widgets, notifications, dashboards, history, and share cards.

QuotaKit for iPhone requires QuotaKit for Mac and iCloud Sync for real usage data. QuotaKit does not operate a Columbus Labs backend that receives, stores, or processes your QuotaKit usage data.

2. Information QuotaKit Handles

Depending on the providers and features you enable, QuotaKit may handle the following information on your devices and in your private iCloud account:

  • Provider names, provider identifiers, account labels, workspace labels, and account email labels when a provider exposes them.
  • Quota windows, remaining usage, reset times, provider status, usage history, token counts, cost estimates, spend summaries, and renewal cycle progress.
  • Device names, device identifiers, app versions, sync timestamps, and merge metadata needed to keep Mac and iPhone views consistent.
  • Local app settings such as enabled providers, dashboard choices, widget choices, notification preferences, and display preferences.
  • StoreKit purchase and entitlement status for QuotaKit Pro, handled through Apple's in-app purchase system.

3. Provider Credentials

Provider credentials stay on your Mac. This includes access tokens, refresh tokens, API keys, OAuth secrets, cookies, browser sessions, authorization headers, and raw provider responses. QuotaKit does not sync provider credentials to iPhone, widgets, notifications, share cards, or Columbus Labs servers.

Some advanced provider integrations may require explicit local access to browser or account data on your Mac. Those integrations are opt-in, provider-specific, and used locally to produce sanitized quota and usage summaries.

4. iCloud Sync

When you enable iCloud Sync, QuotaKit syncs sanitized quota snapshots through Apple iCloud CloudKit using the CloudKit container associated with QuotaKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and is used so your iPhone, widgets, alerts, dashboards, and history can reflect data collected by your Mac.

Columbus Labs does not receive or host your private CloudKit records. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies.

5. Notifications, Widgets, and Share Cards

If you enable alerts, QuotaKit may use local or CloudKit-backed state to notify you when quota runs out, becomes available again, or changes state. Widgets and share cards use sanitized quota, usage, and cost summaries available on your device. They do not include provider credentials.

6. Purchases

QuotaKit Pro is a non-consumable lifetime unlock processed by Apple through StoreKit. QuotaKit uses Apple's purchase and restore systems to determine whether Pro features are unlocked. Columbus Labs does not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

7. Analytics, Tracking, and Ads

QuotaKit does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell your personal information, and does not track you across apps or websites for advertising. QuotaKit does not send your quota, usage, provider, spend, or account-label data to Columbus Labs analytics systems.

8. Public Remote Configuration

QuotaKit may read public Columbus Labs configuration files, such as setup links, supported build recommendations, non-secret feature notices, or safety guardrails. These files are public and do not contain user-specific QuotaKit data, provider credentials, or StoreKit entitlement grants.

9. Data Deletion

You can clear local QuotaKit app data from your devices by using the app's settings or by removing the app. You can remove synced QuotaKit data from iCloud by using QuotaKit's cleanup controls where available or by managing the app's iCloud data in your Apple ID/iCloud settings.

Because Columbus Labs does not host your QuotaKit usage data, we cannot directly delete private records stored only in your iCloud account. If you need help locating deletion controls, contact us.

10. Children's Privacy

QuotaKit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as QuotaKit changes. When we do, we will update the date above and post the revised policy at this URL.
